Viper Rules
By playing Viper, you agree to follow these rules. Staff may take action where behaviour is clearly harmful to the server or its community, even if a specific situation is not worded below.
RULE 01
No Cavebotting or Unattended Hunting
Cavebotting is strictly prohibited. Players must remain actively involved while hunting, completing tasks or looting. Automated systems that move a character around the map, select hunting routes, find monsters, attack continuously while hunting, return to hunting locations or refill hunting supplies without the player actively controlling the character are not permitted.
AFK fishing and AFK training are allowed, including through Viper's official Player Assistance and client quality-of-life features used as intended. These exceptions do not permit cavebotting, unattended hunting or external bots and automation prohibited under Rule 2. Automatic healing, potion use, looting and other approved assistance do not give permission to hunt unattended.
RULE 02
No External Bots, Scripts or Automation
Third-party programs or other software that provide an unfair gameplay advantage are prohibited. This includes automation designed to hunt, target, move, complete tasks, farm resources or perform repeated gameplay actions without normal player input. Simple hardware/software functionality that does not automate gameplay may be permitted, but staff decisions are final where there is doubt.
Player are permitted to use automation to turn in fresh fish at Maris Tidekeeper.
RULE 03
Bot Checks Must Be Answered
Staff may carry out bot checks where automated or unattended gameplay is suspected. Players are expected to respond and cooperate within a reasonable period. Deliberately avoiding a bot check, repeatedly failing checks while continuing to perform automated-looking actions, or attempting to circumvent Viper's bot-detection systems may be treated as evidence of prohibited automation.
RULE 04
No Exploiting Bugs
Players must not knowingly abuse bugs, map errors, item duplication, NPC issues, payment errors, quest exploits, unintended mechanics or other faults for personal or collective gain. If you discover an exploitable issue, stop using it and report it privately to staff. Intentionally concealing or repeatedly exploiting a bug may result in removal of items, experience, currency or accounts.
RULE 05
No Abuse of Multiple Characters or Accounts
Multiple characters or accounts must not be used to bypass game restrictions, abuse rewards, manipulate systems, evade punishments or exploit content intended to be limited per player. Any specific multiclient restrictions announced by Viper staff must also be followed.
RULE 06
No Real-Money Trading Outside Official Viper Systems
Viper characters, items, currency, accounts or services must not be bought or sold for real-world money unless explicitly provided through an official Viper system. Players must not advertise external sales or attempt to circumvent official Viper payment systems.
RULE 07
Account Security Is Your Responsibility
Do not share your password or login credentials. Account sharing is strongly discouraged because actions performed on an account are treated as actions of the account holder. Staff will never need your password.
RULE 08
No Scamming or Deliberate Deception
Scamming other players through deliberately misleading trades, impersonation, fake staff claims, fraudulent payment arrangements or similar behaviour is prohibited. Normal market negotiation is allowed; intentionally deceiving another player through fraud is not.
RULE 09
No Staff Impersonation
Do not claim to be a Viper staff member, pretend to speak on behalf of staff, use misleading character names or attempt to convince players that you possess powers or authority you do not have.
RULE 10
Respect Other Players
Competitive gameplay, PvP, rivalry and banter are part of the game, but targeted harassment, credible threats, doxxing, stalking, severe discriminatory abuse or sustained behaviour intended purely to make another person leave the community is not acceptable.
RULE 11
No Advertising Other Servers or Services
Advertising competing game servers, cheating services, account-selling websites, external bot software or unrelated commercial services through Viper's game, Discord or other official channels is prohibited.
RULE 12
Do Not Disrupt the Server or Other Players Deliberately
Attempts to crash the server or client, intentionally create excessive network/server load, abuse map mechanics to make areas unusable, spam channels excessively or deliberately interfere with normal gameplay through unintended mechanics may result in punishment.
RULE 13
Names, Guilds and Public Content Must Be Appropriate
Character names, guild names, descriptions and other publicly visible content must not impersonate staff, contain extreme harassment, promote illegal or malicious activity, or be deliberately designed to cause serious offence or disruption.
RULE 14
Report Problems Rather Than Abuse Them
Bugs, suspicious behaviour, suspected botting and other serious rule violations should be reported privately to Viper staff where possible. Do not publicly explain exploitable bugs in enough detail for other players to reproduce them.
RULE 15
Staff Decisions and Evidence
Staff may use server logs, bot-check information, gameplay behaviour and other available evidence when investigating rule violations. Punishments may include warnings, mutes, jail, removal of illegitimate gains, temporary bans or permanent bans depending on severity and previous offences. Serious exploitation, cheating or deliberate attacks on Viper may result in immediate permanent removal.
